Our story
Welcome! We are Kiki and Philippe, a Dutch mother & Belgian father and the faces behind UAUA.
We’re inspired by our young children, Liv, Harvey and Leo.
We have been travelling our entire lives and while we have seen many beautiful parts of the world, Peru surprised us in ways we did not expect.
We were not only drawn to its charm, but also to its diversity.
Here is where it all began, the start of UAUA (pronounced WAWA).
UAUA means baby in Quechuan, a language spoken by the Quechua people primarily living in the Peruvian Andes back in the 1500’s.
It was the main language of the Inca Empire.

Ideal growing conditions in coastal Peru create the best quality cotton in the world, named Pima cotton. Pima cotton is an exceptionally smooth and exquisitely soft luxurious cotton. Knowing we wanted to be able to offer the best, we needed to start here.
UAUA, an original baby and toddler clothing line offers simple styles and gender-neutral colours in the highest quality cotton. After all, your little ones deserve nothing but the best.
Our brand offers a complete range of essentials for little ones that can be worn year-round, from 0 up to 4 years of age.
Our Philosophy
Our clothing is designed in Antwerp, Belgium and produced in Peru by our highly qualified partner.
All our designs are ethically produced in Peru. They’re all cut and sewn by hand & colored with eco-friendly dyes by our local Peruvian partner.
Together, we’ve developed our own exclusive, unique designs and colors.
The production factory we work with has been operating since 1995. It’s specialized in small-batch manufacturing and is run by a mother and her daughter – a true family business.
Comfortable and ultra-soft, we are devoted to the development of new products that add value to the lives of our little ones. Our designs are minimal and modest, using materials that are natural, long-lasting and maintain its quality wash after wash.
Key to our vision is durability and premium quality. We make clothes that last for many years to come, clothes that can be hand down from generation to generation.
Our goal is to create various timeless pieces, with simple earthly color palettes that are not only practical but created in an environmentally conscious way. We only use (CPSIA) certified Pima cotton to ensure the best for our little ones.
